Hemerocallis fulva, the common ditch lily or daylily, is the grandmother of all daylilies. Here in Madison County in June, they can be seen along roadsides and in ditches every where.
Conner is the newest resident at the house above Heck Creek. His birthday was March 24, and he's been with us for three weeks now. He can go from the sweetest cuddliest puppy to wild thing maniac in half a minute. We're certainly busy keeping up with him. But look at that adorable face!
Their color is rather dark, but in the sunshine, so PURPLE. 💜
Their odor is delicate, but so delicious!
It was a beautiful day today along Heck Creek. After days and days of snow, rain, clouds and damp, it was so wonderful to see the sun and blue skies today. Not a cloud in the sky--just an early rising moon to the east.
I was outside for a bit. If you looked closely, you could see buds swelling slightly on many plants. Maybe Spring won't be too much longer in coming.
